Planning On Buying a New HDTV This Christmas?

Earlier today I read an article that discussed some information that the NPD Group had found in a consumer study they conducted. The article claimed that about 25 percent of consumers plan on buying a new TV within the next six months. The study also discovered that screen size and screen resolution are important factors when selecting the right HDTV. It’s surprising to me that they didn’t ask if great sounding audio played a roll in their purchasing decision. We’ve conducted quite a bit of research ourselves and have learned that consumers find “audio quality” is important to them when making a buying decision and that more than 70% of consumers use only their TVs built-in speakers for their TV audio. With so many people relying upon built-in speakers, it’s no wonder consumers want to buy an HDTV with not only stunning picture, but one with stunning audio quality as well?

When you visit a retail store this holiday season, the vibrant colors and life-like picture quality of these new HDTVs may charm you, but remember, if the audio sounds dull and tinny, then the full experience of that TV is far from High-Definition. You may notice that retail stores rarely ever have the audio of the TVs on, so, how do you know if a TV has audio quality that matches its stunning picture? The answer is simple; look for the SRS logo. All TVs that feature SRS audio solutions have been custom tuned personally by SRS engineers to provide the kind of natural, immersive sound that even a pure audiophile will enjoy.

We believe that our logo stands for premium quality audio, and we wouldn’t allow any product that features it to take its place in your home unless it sounded its absolute best. So, this season when you shop for a new TV, make sure to ask your sales representatives to show you TVs that have SRS built-in.
